Our brothers and sisters in Haiti need our help

As everyone now knows, on Jan. 12 2010, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake - the strongest to hit Haiti and the Caribbean basin in more than 200 years - destroyed much of the capital - Port-au-Prince and the surrounding areas, razing the concrete buildings of densely populated city, where 2 million people live. The devastation is made complex because of the lack of infrastructure to deliver aid, medicine and supplies.

According to media reports, the casualty figure is in the tens of thousands and rising by the hour.

In the absence of health care, visibility of security forces and relief set up, the suffering of millions would increase.
It is time to stand shoulder to shoulder with the needy and powerless. Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the Americas and its people need our assistance.

COJEP International and IMCOSE appeal to Muslim minorities in Europe and the rich Middle East countries to help as much as possible as well as send teams of experts and doctors on urgent basis.
