As you must have read the news concerning hate crimes targeted towards Muslim communities. CojepInternational has arranged a special roundtable on this particular subject today. The roundtable has on its Agenda, to inform, analyze and assess views on this subject.
Faced with these terrible events which have resulted in loss of human lives, politicians and media have not leaved up to their responsibility but have tried to downplay the situation by minimizing theimportance of the situation and the facts.

Fundamental Freedoms: 29th Septembre 2009
COJEP International has repeatedly expressed its concerns about the on-going public discourse calling for the restriction of some minorities’ right to freedom of religion or belief on the basis that the presence of these minorities allegedly threatens the cultural identity of some OSCE participating States. Therefore, we urged national and international human rights organizations, specialized bodies and politicians, to take a stronger stance against such acts of intolerance and xenophobia, in particular during the times of elections when chauvinistic and anti-immigrant rhetoric has reached in the peak.

Thank you Mr. President, if you are agree, I will express myself by combining the two sessions on Fundamental Freedoms. Ladies and Gentlemen, Excellencies, Dear Colleagues,
The acceptance of cultural diversity which was represented so many times by the migrants which are today the ethnic or religious minorities in our societies and understand this diversity as a wealth for mainstream society gives some failures. These failures are about democracy, affecting the rule of law and undermine human rights.
